All photos were taken by Brenda Jones, and all comments are hers, except where noted. You can see how large the beavers are once they climb up on the canal bank. They are in fact the largest rodent second to the capybara. Their Latin name is Castor Canadensis. Carolyn Edelmann commented, "At the rate these beavers are going, there won't be a tree left between the bridge and the seminary! There is a large lodge on the east canal bank, north of the fishing bridge, close to Mapleton, that looks like a landslide, not tidy and round like the ones in the Hamilton-Trenton Marsh. Nature raw in tooth and claw - this is one developer I cannot chastise!"
